Strip Clubs in Pennsylvania’s Bible Belt

Today I logged nearly 400 miles on my car, driving through central Maryland and central Pennsylvania, much of the time on local roads (including a stretch along the Lincoln Highway, America’s first coast-to-coast highway). This area is sometimes described as a northern Bible Belt – full of social conservatives, Bush bumper stickers, gun racks and Bible Churches.

And strip clubs.

Why is it that there are so many strip clubs and "adult" bookstores in so-called family values, conservative areas? I don’t know if there are more strip clubs per capita in Red States or Red Counties than there are in Blue States or Blue Counties, but anecdotally, it sure seems like it . . .
