Just a quick reminder that the first-ever Lutheran Zephyr blog book study will begin next Thursday, September 4, with the preface and first chapter of N.T. Wright's Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church. (Full details and schedule are in last week's post.)
As I mentioned in the previous post, how we conceive of heaven and the resurrection has huge implications for how we live our life – and conduct our ministry – today. Anglican Bishop N.T. Wright has written an excellent book examining the Biblical and traditional roots of Christian belief about life after death, challenging many commonly-held beliefs in the process.
Every Thursday and Monday I'll post a brief synopsis and review of the book here, and encourage comments of anybody reading along. If you want to play along, get a copy of the book and check in here next Thursday!
