In the recent weeks I’ve moved and gone on two business trips. Argh. Nice to be back, however (I leave on Thursday for my next trip).
In other news, the ELCA Churchwide Assembly met in Orlando, FL. It is not surprising that the sexuality proposals (permitting the ordination of gay pastors, granting pastoral discretion and latitude to congregations in their ministry with gay couples) failed. From what I understand the church is working on a broader statement on sexuality in general. Perhaps this is what we needed before last week’s vote – a broad statement on sexuality giving guidance and teaching on what we think, believe, etc. in regards to many aspects of human sexuality – not just homosexuality.
I’m a little rusty, but hope to get back in the groove . . .
