“It wasn’t bad. Just went to sleep.”

I just wanted to cry when I read this.  "It wasn’t bad.  Just went to sleep," one of the miners wrote before he died.  As he was facing death, huddled with other dying men behind a plastic barrier that couldn’t keep back the poisinous carbon monoxide, he wrote a note to comfort his family.

He knew he was dying, and rather than panic or pray or write in an angry tone, "why me???," he left a message for his family, to tell them that he was fine.

Tragic.  Beautiful.  Overwhelming.

God be with all those who mourn.
